Gentle Cascade

Gentle Cascade
S141

I called Gentle Cascade, Oliver and Oliver came to the Braemar Stud from his breeder John McLoughlin as a weaned foal in 2002.

He is not the first foal I have bought from John, as my love affair with his ponies, and  especially Milford Wren, has been ongoing for the last ten years.

Gentle Cascade is by Laerkens Cascade Dawn out of Gentle Carra, who is a daughter of Milford Wren.  Lene Nielson who has encouraged me to keep Oliver entire bred Laerkens Cascade Dawn. She has a stallion son herself in Denmark, Laerkens Catch Me.

Oliver like his sire is not tall, just over 14hh but carries himself well and looks bigger. He has great bone and movement and has shown a very sensible and caring temperament too.

When he was two years old we thought he was quite nice and decided to leave him entire until he was three and take another look. Then at three, I asked Liz Morgan and Barbara Gallimore if they would have him to break and take him for his stallion inspection. Needless to say we were all chuffed when he passed. But then decisions had to be made about his future.  We decided to take him to the Breed Show in July and with Barbara showing him, he won his class and the Youngstock Championship.

This is all great but would he cover mares and was he fertile!!

The answer is yes, he covers well and has proved his fertility.

FROZEN SEMEN available from ‘West Kington Stud’. Please contact me for further information if you are interested.
